Patch Management

For every platform we support, we have to have a mechanism to keep that system up-to-date with the latest vendor patches.

This requires the following processes or mechanisms:

• Notification of new patches
• A reporting system that tells you which
• A local staging server for copying down the patches

Patch importance

Some patches may be time sensitive. Patches may be classified as "critical", "recommended", or "optional".

This requires the following mechanisms:

• A notification system, to inform us of critical updates.
